Mā tātou e kōrero mō ngā take hirahira i te wā nei, me ngā take kei te haere mai.
He wāhi tēnei mō te whakawhiti o ngā kōrero o nāianei e hira ana ki Ngai Taua me ia rōpū tauira. He wāhanga-a-rohe tōna, ā, he wāhanga-a-motu tōna.
Me hāpai tonutia tātou inaianei kia pai ai ngā tauira Māori, ōna whānau, ōna hapu, me ōna iwi katoa mō apōpō, kia whiwhi ai rātou i ngā hua pai kua puta mai i tēnei wa.

Ā, ko tōna kaupapa, me kii, kei roto i tōna ingoa, ara, he Huinga Tauira Māori, mō ngā Whare Wānanga katoa o te motu. He hui tēnei hei whakangāhau, hei whakahihiri i ngā wairua, heoi anō, he akiaki i ngā tauira Māori i runga i te huarahi tika ki te panekiretanga o te mātauranga. Me kii, he hui whakawhānaungatanga i roto i ngā āhuatanga whakahirahira katoa, mai i te kōrero mō ngā take huhua o te wā, tae noa ki te korikorio te tinana i runga i te papa kanikani. He hui nui me tatu atu e ia tauira Māori o te motu.

Kia kitea ai e mātou ngā mea e orite ana ki ētahi atu whare wānanga me ngā kuratini. Nā ngā tauira e tae atu ki ēnei hui i hangaia ai i ngā whakahoanga hōu me ngā maumaharatanga mō te katoa o ō rātou oranga. He tūāpapa tēnei mō ngā tauira ki te whakaputa i ngā whakaaro i tētahi takiwā kei runga i te āhuatanga pai mā rātou. Nā Te Aira Nyman
Te Huinga Tauira is a National Tertiary Māori Students Conference held annually in conjunction with Te Mana Ākonga and hosting student associations. Te Mana Ākonga is the only national representative organization for Māori tertiary students.
This year, it will be co-hosted by Ngai Tauira, Victoria University’s Maori Student Association and WSA, Wellington Institute of Technology’s Student Association.
The purpose of the conference is to imagine possible futures and to formulate action as we forge ahead, to realise these dreams. The conference is a forum for discussion on current issues for Māori as well as local and national student politics. It is a platform for our future leaders to strive for success in their chosen field. The benefits of attending Te Huinga Tauira are educational, social and cultural. It is vital that we continue to concentrate our efforts in this area so that future Māori students, their families and communities may benefit from the transformative action we implemented in our time.
