The Counselling Service is FREE and CONFIDENTIAL for all Victoria students. We are trained counsellors with a special interest in the needs and concerns of students. About one thousand four hundred students each year have discovered that their problems are manageable and that counselling can help.
Why you might want to talk to a counsellor:
Anything – personal or academic – which may be affecting your general sense of well-being, your relationships or your learning. NO PROBLEM IS TOO BIG OR TOO SMALL!
Here are just some of the reasons students at Vic come to see us:
• “I’m feeling really stressed” • “I don’t seem to know what I want” • “I feel depressed ” • “I’m thinking of quitting varsity” • “There are problems in my family” • “Relationship troubles” • “My attitude has been so negative lately” • “I’m just not happy” • “I’m having trouble concentrating on my studies” • “I really get uptight about tests, speeches, etc” • “I’m worried about my thoughts” • “I’m concerned about my/my friend’s eating patterns” • “I need to talk about something that has happened to me”
