Tertiary Education Minister Pete Hodgson announced that the signing of an educational co-operational agreement between Turkey and New Zealand last week is intended to strengthen the ties between educational institutes and authorities in both countries. Hodgson believes that the agreement is a positive reflection on the New Zealand education system, institutions and academic staff.
“New Zealand’s potential as an education provider complements Turkey’s expanding need for good quality tertiary education for its large young population,” he said.
Under the agreement, the number of Turkish students studying in New Zealand has the opportunity to grow to allow up to 100 students to be eligible for places in New Zealand tertiary education institutions.
