THE BOOK closed on another chapter of Mo’ Month of May last week, when nearly $1000 raised by students was handed over to Women’s Refuge.
MMM organiser Paul Brown says the amount raised by the selling of fake moustaches was almost double the $500 raised for the teen cancer support group CanTeen last year.
Brown says he sees the irony in a symbol of masculinity such as a moustache being used to raise money for battered women.
“It was just a success really”, he adds.
