Kladblog is a Dutch website for those who are fans of things like FHM Magazine, Top Gear and general laddish behaviour. The right hand side of the home page has some Hot Links with the usual guy stuff like Free Online Poker, Self Employment From Home, Free Expert Movie Reviews, Cheap Airline Tickets and Females Looking For Males.
This site has an option to switch from Dutch and appears to be by a rapper who calls himself Morpheus (well, he was calling himself a rapper the day I checked out this site).
The point of this site is the funny and weird video clips like Car Surfing Fun and Fun in London and the usual naked girlie pics. The girlie pics (what they refer to as ‘Babes’) are all listed in an area called Snobs (18+); unfortunately these entries are not translated into English. But you won’t need to use www.babelfish.altvista.com as they are in the international language of porn.
Whitehouse.org
Following in the tradition of The Onion, someone has set up a very good mirror site to the White House, http://www.whitehouse.org/
Visit the White House each day for the latest news – like for instance “President’s Trip to Latin America: Watch Actual Hispañoritos Express Their Passionate Love for the USA”, “Vice President Cheney Delivers Morale-Boosting Remarks to U.S. Soldiers in Super-Safe and Totally Stable Afghanistan” and “President Offers Helpful Advice to Britain’s Prince Harry on His Upcoming Deployment to Combat Duty in Iraq”.
The most important branch of US government is of course the Department of Faith. In-depth analysis is provided for important things like CHRISTIAN KIDS WONDER: “Does Jesus Watch Me Go Poopy?”, Accept Christ Now and Become a Real AmericanTM and “How Does Our Christian Nation Benefit by Defending Hell-Bound Jews?”
No good website is complete without a comprehensive staff listing and whitehouse.org has The Bush Administration – America’s Godly Brain Trust complete with the usual suspects. Such as George H.W. Bush (Executive President), Karl Rove (Minster of Truth), Condoleezza Rice (Sec. State of War) and Ted Nugent (Sec. Wildlife)
419 eater
Recently Salient’s New Media section brought you www.scambusters.org.nz, a website for those of you who have been scammed on Trademe and Trade and Exchange’s website. http://www.419eater.com/ is a great international site dealing with the infamous 419 scams.
419 Eater sets the scene and gets straight to the point on their home page by asking:

Does somebody want to transfer millions of dollars into your account?
Does someone want you to cash in their cheques and send them the money?
Met a new friend/penpal on a friendship/dating site who’s asking you for money?
Has a dying person contacted you wanting your help to give his money to charity?
Have you sold an item and are asked to accept a payment larger than the item amount?

As the title suggests this is a site that is intended to waste a 419 scammer’s time and resources. For those of you fortunate not to have received dodgy emails before, a 419 scam is a form of advance fee fraud, usually originating from Nigeria (the term 419 is named after the section of the Nigerian criminal code that it violates.) The scammers get hold of e-mail addresses the same way spammers do with the intention of swindling money from naïve western victims through endless adminstration, fake bank fees and customs fees that the purported genuine officals have no idea about.
If you have a granny with a lot of money you might want to check out this site and inform her about the tricks scammers can use to get hold of your inheritence money. Seriously, many Kiwis (usally senior citizens) have lost a lot of dignity through mortagaging their homes, borrowing money from friends and getting into debt following false dreams brought on by 419 scams. It used to be harmless Reader’s Digest subscriptions that got people to enter the sweepstakes; however, with the advent of email, things are a lot darker and potentially more damaging.
This site as well as being informative gets it own back on the scammers. The fun areas are the Trophy Room where the scammers are promised more money if they send in silly photos of themselves, the Hall of Shame section with trophy room photos that are poorly edited and comical and Propaganda which has posters inspired by WWII and movies edited with anti-419 messages.
On a more serious and informative note there are also sections labelled 419 FAQ, an excellent forum, scam baiting tips and a comprehensive list of links to other 419 busting sites.
