Hi Friends,
The sheer awesomeness of the Class Reps this semester is blowing my mind! We received a lot of really good applications for the class reps scholarships and we have been hearing great things from staff about what an incredible job they are doing. This also extends to our Faculty Delegates that are appointed for the year. They are representing students, out of their own time and they are doing a fantastic job at tackling some pretty tricky situations, organising class parties or study groups and relaying positive feedback from students to staff. It is incredible to see such strong student leaders, watching out for all of us and making uni life that wee bit better. I want to say a huge thank you to all those students that are volunteering for these very important roles.
Breast Cancer Fundraiser
On Thursday 26 May, 8am-11am, in the VUWSA clubs lounge, we are holding a Pink Ribbon Breakfast to raise money for the New Zealand Breast Cancer Foundation. We will have a variety of breakfast goods available for you to nom. It is a donation entry fee (which goes to NZBCF) and there is also NZBCF merchandise available to purchase during the breakfast and at the VUWSA reception from Monday 23 to Friday 27 May. Bring your friends along and support a really good cause!
Almost Holidays!
WOAH uni is crazy busy at the moment, pretty much everyone is stressing about hand-ins, tests and the general lack of money. I have found that exercise, good sleep, eating properly, drinking plenty of water and scheduling time to relax and have fun (if possible) are the best ways to combat stress and survive the end of semester! We students are terrible at looking after ourselves when we get busy, so take it back to the basics and keep yourselves as healthy as possible. If you are struggling at this time, don’t forget that VUWSA has a Food Bank, free bread on Wednesday and Friday mornings and advocacy advice if you need help and Campus Angels that can walk you home if you are studying till dark. Please don’t stress and suffer on your lonesome, ask a friend or family for help or utilise the services that VUWSA and VUW provide.
