This year marks the 10th year of Cuba Street Carnival. On the 21st of Feb it will take over the city. The top of Cuba to the bottom of Courtney will have over 80 bands, DJs and other acts playing from 11 am till 1 am.
There are going to be graffiti artists shredding up a Bus, other making a mural out of tape on the buildings in Glover Park. A hula shack where you can get your bikini painted on.
There is literally going to be something for everyone.
Cuba Carnival is an awesome atmosphere. During the last Carnival I lived on Little Havana Street which is a bunch of flats above Cuba Kebab and sat out drinking beers and watching the people walk by. Then went down to enjoy the festivities. It is the best welcome that all you first years could have to Wellington and a nice welcome back to all returning students.
Just turn up on Cuba street and join in the massive party! See you there.
