The world needs more streakers. It also needs more belly dancers. Actually, the world needs a lot more of many things, awesome things, things that remind you life isn’t a rolling routine of blah with a hint of anus flavour. The world needs more awesomeness.
This year I was hoping to initiate several projects to help remind people of just this thing, but time attacked me and life kept me busy so it is only now that I have the time, energy, and motivation to actually get things started. With this in mind, I would like to announce three points of interest to the public in general: the return of the Wellington Zombie walk, the formation of a massage group, and the future stall day for various cartoon books to be held at Vic uni.
Zombie walk
The first Wellington Zombie Walk was held in 2006 and was a resounding success. An enthusiastic second walk was held in 2007, and now a third zombie walk has been planned for 31 October this year. There is, in fact, another zombie walk being held this year in September as part of a fundraising event for the Wellington U17 Girls Rep Soccer (college kids) to get to their tournament in Palmerston this October, this other walk will be an attempt to break the world record for people officially attending a zombie-march event (Its $2 to sign the official register and be part of the event, for more details you can contact Tony on 0272789675).
The fundraiser zombie walk is a separate event to the zombie walk I’m organising which, as with the two previous years, is intended to be an unaffiliated and unsponsored event with no other purpose than for people to stalk the streets in the eternal search for brains. There will be an afterparty of sorts, things are still in the pipes so stay tuned, more details are to follow, just remember that it will take place on 31 October (every year).
Massage group
In a totally different vein, I am initiating a massage group for people who haven’t done much massage before but are interested in learning, for people wanting to practice with new styles/techniques/ oils/et cetera, or for those who just enjoy the simple pleasure of human touch. The group is meeting for regular (at least once weekly) meet ups and sessions, possibly combined with shared meals. Effective immediately. If you are interested then don’t hesitate to contact me robbie.neilson@gmail.com.
Cartoon books
Finally, I am currently reprinting a few runs of comic books I’ve made over the years, as well as a few new ones (including a compilation of ALL the ‘MAN’ comics made for Salient since 2002). I intend to have a stall day sometime at Vic before the year is out, as well as stocking a few at Graphic on Cuba Street and having ones available for order on an up and coming website I will get around to finishing some time soon.
Again, any questions then please email me at robbie.neilson@gmail.com
May life not taste of anus.
Awesomeness will prevail.
